SUSTAINABLE SCHOOLS
ARE YOU READY TO MEET YOUR 2010 TARGET?
All schools must carry out a sustainability audit and meet the 2010 Target for sustainable development. All schools have to put into place a policy and strategy to demonstrate their good practice in sustainability. Sustainability must be part of a school’s development plan and it must be included in the school’s SEF. This training day will brief headteachers and senior staff and help them meet all the requirements being made of them. At this time this is the only training day of its kind being offered anywhere in
On the training day we will:
· Carry out the DCSF audit using S3, to see how close you are to reaching the 2010 target of 30 – 59 points for sustainability.
· Provide you with a written policy for sustainable development.
· It will explain the DCSF guidelines to save you reading them.
· It will set out the 6 DCSF recommendations for schools.
· It will explain the 8 ‘doorways’ for sustainability.
· It will help you link sustainability to your SEF and to your Development Plan
· Be well prepared for the 2010 deadline.
· This course will put you at the head of the field!
