Training for Deputy and Assistant Heads- Module 2
Making an effective contribution to the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
This is a training and development day for Deputy Heads and Assistant Heads. It stands in its own right but it has been planned as the second module of three days training for deputy and assistant heads. It is an excellent opportunity for headteachers to demonstrate to Ofsted that they are meeting the professional development needs of their deputy and assistant heads. It will equip deputy heads and assistant heads with important skills to bring back into school to make an effective contribution to the leadership and management team.
The day will have four elements: ]
- It will review the structure of an efficient and effective school
- It will consider the role of the deputy head and assistant heads in establishing and running an efficient and effective strategy for whole school self-evaluation
- It will teach an effective and efficient strategy for policy writing
- It will show deputy and assistant heads how to write effective improvement plans
Deputy Heads and Assistant Heads rarely have Leadership and Management Courses tailored to their particular needs. This is a course ‘bespoke’ for them.
On completion of the three modules, course members will be given the Excellence in Education Certificate for deputy and assistant heads to add to their professional development portfolio.
Each module is an inset day in its own right and the three modules can be taken in any order.
